Losing Weight after Pregnancy – Nutrition from Protein Shake Recipes

After you’ve given birth to your new baby and you have settled down at home again, you may want to start losing the “baby weight”. Most women will gain between 25-35 pounds while they are pregnant, but around 13 pounds will leave you when you give birth. That will leave you with around 10-20 pounds to get rid of yourself, and this can be achieved by going on a steady healthy-eating diet for a few months. One of the best methods is to use protein shake recipes as a meal replacement.

The first thing to remember is that you won’t lose the weight overnight. In fact, it’s unhealthy to even try to lose that much weight in two weeks. Depending on how much weight you have to lose, give yourself between a month and six months at the very least; if you do that, you will lose the weight and maintain your new weight. Try to lose 1-2 pounds each week, as that is a manageable goal that is not too difficult to achieve if you stick to your diet.

Remember that you are looking after a new baby, so you probably won’t have the energy to exercise every day. Think of your diet as a healthy eating plan rather than a diet; if you do that, you won’t feel like you’re working hard. An important factor to remember if you are breastfeeding your baby is the fact that the foods you eat will affect your baby; therefore, make sure that you don’t eliminate important foods from your diet or add foods that could harm your baby. Count your calories and don’t give up – count everything, even calories in a banana.
